Templates keep your messages consistent. Email and SMS templates can include merge fields, like a contact's first name, that fill in automatically. Audio templates are greetings and announcements played on calls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions & Troubleshooting

How do I use a template?

When you send a text or email from a contact's Inbox, choose the template from the Template menu. See sending a text message and sending an email.

Can automations use my templates?

Yes. Email and SMS actions in an automation can use your templates. See our article on creating an automation.

Why does my message show [firstName] instead of a name?

Merge fields are replaced only when the message is sent to a contact. If a contact's profile is missing that detail, the field may be left blank.

What happens if I delete an audio template used as a greeting?

Any call greeting that used it goes back to the default greeting.
